This is love...

Updated: May 3, 2021

Love is not just the feeling of infatuation towards another. Love is a deeper understanding of another person, caring for another human besides yourself.

Love is getting annoyed with someone, and it doesn't affect your relationship.

Just because you love someone doesn't mean you have to have sex with them; love can be shown in friendship as well.

As I think about love, I am going to tell you about someone I love.

My best friend, someone who has been there for me for most of the memories I can remember, is someone who I have a deep love for. He loves me when I'm at my lowest, and I love him at my lowest, vice versa. We were together at our middle school graduation, our high school graduation, and now our college graduation. As I approach our college graduation, I realize the love I have with my best friend is something so rare to experience; I feel so lucky.

We have our independence; we don't rely on each other, given we still are always there for each other. We motivate each other to grow into our true selves. We have so much trust in one another and feel comfortable being vulnerable when needed. I love him for every part he has, not only when it is convenient or glamorous for me.

I could go years without seeing him, and yet our souls would reunite with ease. No matter where we are or where we go, we will always see the same star. The thought of the love we share and the connection we have is enough; it is never meant to be painful.

Tanner is talented, loving, passionate, and understanding. To have him in your life or to know him means joy. Constantly I feel as I have a little angel in my life, Tanner. He could not be more perfectly imperfect. I love him for his good and bad. I love him no matter what.

All humans need love; it's in our biology.
